Hou Yifan plays the Fool's mate. Resigns after move 5 in 2017 Gibraltar Masters.

Bobby Fischer forfeited the second game of his World Championship match against Spassky.
What sanctions did FIDE impose? That game was scored as a win for Spassky. That's it.
Panno resigned on the first move of his game against Fischer in the Interzonal. What sanctions did FIDE impose? That game was scored as a win for Fischer.
... and the Interzonal and the WCC match were a bit more important than a tournament in Gibraltar.
@2Q1C: Relax.

But you would never throw a fit about that. Only when it comes from a woman. A woman you think should be forced into a hijab.

When I'm world champion, such behaviour will not be tolerated.
The World Chess Champion has zero influence over the rules governing match and tournament play. Fischer was WCC and wanted the match format changed. It didn't happen. He quit competitive chess, the title went to Karpov... and then FIDE changed the match rules.

You may not have the balls for this game. You have to take chances, play principled moves, and sometimes sacrifice pieces.
Hou Yifan has far more guts than you, with all your internet rage.

Was this among the shortest GM games ever?
1. c4 Black resigns. Fischer-Panno, Palma Interzonal 1971.

Dropping a game doesnt require guts
Hou Yifan acted like a fool this time. Maybe they dont teach probability in China?

Panno resigned because he had prepared only for 1.e4

Yes, it's possible that her protest was aimed not just at the pairings, but at the way her earlier complaints were handled. We just don't know.
... and because we don't know, I think it's rather premature to agitate for a lifetime ban. Jeeze...

She was entitled to be deeply p-ed off, after she raised her complaint with the organisers and was evidently told what they are still saying - "the pairings come out of a machine"!

It is the tournament organisers who should be getting the flak. A fair tournament requires that the pairings are objectively determined, based on results so far and ELO rating - not with opponents being hand picked by the organisers.

Has anyone fed the round-by-round results into a pairing program, and determined that the opponents were NOT objectively determined?
By your logic Bobby Fischer would have been banned from the sport for his forfeits and most of the Russian GMs he ever played would be banned by 2Q1C standards for all their draws.
