dont bother, this guy just doesnt understand how pairings work. Ive been trying to get him to understand that man or woman, she still would be playing someone with a lower rating for most of these games....not getting through

Oh really?... Does getting "A"s in college level statistics courses count??... How about four semesters of higher math, everything from differential calculus to differential equations (in which I did NOT get an "A" ).

Despite my knee-jerk detractors, I think you will find me quite open minded, willing to learn, and most remarkably, humble and glad to admit error... Just trying to get to the truth. Let's see the computer "code".
I was more referencing the comment directed to the "Zac" fella. Even if they had manipulated the pairings so that she was not playing "weaker female players" she would very likely play "weaker male players" so if Yifan really is upset because the pairings dont get her an opportunity to get to 2700 as Zac suggests, pairing her with men would not change that. He mentioned that she had the same amount of poitns as the likes of Fabi and Naka and MVL, but thats just not how pairings work, you dont get that matchup until the end, and by that time, she didnt have the same amount of points.
What i do think she may be frusterated is playing women in general. She left the womens Fide circuit to play in Mixed tournaments and she played many females here...but thats just it, she didnt quit the womens circuit to play in mens tournaments, she did it to play in MIXED tournaments....she needs to accept the fact that she will still have to play women, especially in the Open that attracts the most females by far due to its large female prize.
But as to your opinion of the matter, what do you think the organizers have to gain from manipulating the pairings? really, there is no evidence to suggest tampering with the pairings, and if they had accomodated Hou Yifans complaints, we could just as well be arguing this the other way....asking "why should organizers accomodate WC wishes, thats not fair, blah blah blah"

My apologies. These forums can get confusing.
My understanding is that she specifically entered a mixed tournament to play men (but admittedly because the strongest players are men - and your overall point is well taken)
I really can't speculate as to motives, but I do believe that because of the controversy (which may ultimately prove to be entirely of her own making) and the EXTRAORDINARILY UNLIKELY pairings, it behooves the tournament officials to provide complete transparency as to the details of how they arrived at the pairings.
Even if there is no impropriety... the APPEARANCE of impropriety damages the game.
I mean, what's the big secret?... LET'S SEE THE COMPUTER CODE AND THE INPUTS. Until that happens, the controversy will remain, unless somebody number-crunches a small mountain of data, which I am loathe to do.

I dont know, Im ignorant when it comes to chess tournaments, havent followed them since I got muted...
She should win, crush him horribly then I will take that as an apology.
Also, she hung a drawn endgame with Magnus a while ago, this is the apology for that one, drawing, the apology for throwing away the game is crushing Magnuts.
