how am I going to improve?

my rating is 1246 USCF and I'm looking to improve. I tend to not like books on chess because I find them stale, however, if the book is utterly recommended I'll give it a try
U can like play chess
The number one advice I can give you: surround yourself with players who are much better than you. Become their friend. Play a lot of practice games against them, analyze your games with them, analyze their games against them, and learn how they think about chess.
