Ummm.... you can be 2700 hundred but still be 0% of the way to being a GM. It's all about norms, not rating.

But I'm 1/4 of the way to being a Super GM. My rating is about 900. 900 * 4 = 2700. It took me a year to reach 900. If I continue improving at the same rate, I can reach Super GM in four years. In 5 years I will be the best in the world. In 6 years I will be better than Stockfish 8.

ratings are not linear
it is SO much easier to get to 900 than to 1800
but... you don't have to believe me. I wish you luck. if you REALLY want to know how hard it is to get good- go ask a legitimately strong player.
IMHO
you have just begun. and THAT is assuming you are USCF (or a national equiv) 900- and not just a online blitz score.

many dudes get 900-1200 before they plateau out and lose interest.
thats where my money would be.
ofc, there are exceptions. but then they usually don't gloat about a pretty small rating. instead; they realize that is yet a lowly rating and quest for much better...
