Actually the Queen is worth 9 points, not 8 points (although there is a running gag that Mikhail Tal's Queen is worth 12 points
).
Of course, there are other "points" in chess too. There are rating points, points for game results (win=1, lose=0, draw=0.5) in tournaments, points for computer evaluations etc. Being more specific is helpful, but I think you mean piece point values; in which case the Queen is worth 9 points.

That is chess.com specific rather than chess in general, but you are absolutely right. Maybe the original poster was asking about these instead? There are probably other "points" as well, if we thought more on that topic; that does not even include fallacy of equivocations such as your forum post "good point." (It is a good point though, apparently chess/chess.com have a lot more points than I expected)
