How best can a player improve chess ?

Pratice,PRACTICE,and then more PRACTICE,you also need a good memory and the  abillity to see what's comlng from your opponant,scanning the whole board,to become a better player.Do not get discouraged by loosing,everyone looses,just keep on trying and your game will improvePlease be relevant, helpful & nice!

Basically, in a nutshell, just spend as much time on chess as you can.

Play over master games from books and magazines, especially if they have lots of commentary...
Play as often as you can, ideally with someone a little stronger than you...
Watch Youtube instructional videos... (kingscrusher's videos are great)
Watch games of strong players...

Etc.

(Note:  It's losing and loses, not loosing and looses.)
