I suck when it's anything faster than 20 or 30 minutes. What drills are you supposed to do to improve your speed for accurateness?

This is only my personal experience, but after being mainly on Correspondence Chess in the last months, basically since I registered my account here, my Blitz skills were getting a lot of better. The slow speed of CC really helps you to see tactical blows, ya know, making the most approbiate move in a given position, being more able to see potential attacking grounds on the enemy's side, and my openings are better than ever, which was the stage of the game I had the most severe problems in. Over all the same thing which I concentrated most at to avoid Blitz Chess is now actually helping me to gain some self-confidence at the same. Smile

Well, suck for awhile then.  Play a bunch of 10 minute chess.  And gradually improve.  You get used to it.   Burned, learned.

By the way you can't compare live rating point for point to your online rating.  The live rantings are always a lower number.

But if you don't mean that then to improve in blitz you have to improve your long play.  Speed games only give you enough time to play what you know very well (no time for analysis).  So to get better, build up patterns and lessons in your long term memory by playing slow games as accurately as you can, and reviewing the losses.
