How can I get better at chess?

Hi! I am quite bad at chess and my ELO is under 200. I don’t know how to get better. I need to just play more, but I don’t understand any tactiques or stuff like that, and miss everything when I play, since I’m in a hurry even though the timer is set to 10min. I end up falling for traps over and over. I wish I could play more lessons, but I can’t since I am not able to pay for this app. I feel stupid because I miss obvious things and keep falling for the same tricks.
Try developing your pieces, castling then making sure your pieces are all supported so you can recapture if you lose one. You can practice tactics for free here doing puzzles, as well as other sites.

Play slower games, and use your time. Before you make a move, stop and think -- can my opponent capture any of my pieces?
