Note: In SCID I can see which first moves are the most common, but not the names of the most common openings (as White, and as Black). This is what I'm after.
How can I use SCID to tell which openings are played?
Thanks, adej...! I'll try that! I know the ECO codes of my favorite openings. I'll try the tree also, I guess that would be even better. Good idea about making two databases. Thanks!
SCID can identify the opening played in your games for you. Use the "Game" menu then "Identify Opening". In SCID for Windows version 4.3 the shortcut is CTRL+SHIFT+D.
There are also the ECO browser window (CTRL+Y) and the Tree window (CTRL+T). These can be found under the "Windows" menu, or via icons above the current board.
I really like the Game Explorer here on Chess.com. But it only shows my Turn-Based games. It would be great if it also could show my Live games, but it can't. So, I got a hold on SCID, hoping to find out which openings are the most common in my games. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Thanks!
