You let it sit too long without moving, so the server, as part of the fair play policy, assumed you were wasting your opponent's time and had abandoned the game.
How did I "lose" this game?

There is something wrong with this site. I was playing against a guy rated about 100 less than me. I won, and the system came back showing my rating as -95 than where I started.
About an hour ago I was notified that I had lost the game I was playing because I had "abandoned" it. I had done no such thing. As white, I had made my first two moves. My opponent had made one and then stopped doing anything. After waiting several minutes I put down my iPad for a brief bathroom break. When I returned I was notified if my "loss."
In fact his clock was still running with about 14 minutes used. He still had not made his second move. Mine was dormant with around a minute used.
So, how was I the loser?
