No, it happens, if someone's account is closed when during a game, it auto-resigns.
The reason why it said "error" is because his account has already been closed

My opponent was 2196 rated, (not telling name for public shaming) and he kept aborting the game. But he always rematched.. but then I won the next game with 0 moves. How is this possible?
