Lol, come on.
What are you getting at?
Taken in the context of your other statements it sounds rather like you believe your laws and justice system infallible... and every prisoner to be evil.
Personally I believe there are huge numbers of people in prison who shouldn't be there and engaging them in something like a game of chess is a kind and noble deed.
Not infallible of course, but yeah I think it's pretty good. You need a lot of evidence for a person to be put in prison, the decision is made very carefully, often even when things seem obvious.
I think few people are there that shouldn't be, and I don't think they have been doing it for the greater good. If they have that's stupid.
People are not picked to serve as jurors because they seem intelligent... they are usually picked because they either seem stupid and maleable or stupid and opinionated... and they are the ones who get to play judge and say guilty or not guilty. So while I think that most people in prison are there for a legitimate reason, I don't have as much blind faith on the system as you do.
That's why decisions are made unanimously. It only takes one sane person to convince everyone else. Just one. And who's gonna last longer? The guy who's making sense or one of the stubborn idiots who don't want to be wrong? They should give in eventually, they don't want to stay for too long if they know they're wrong, though some people may be too stupid to know when they're wrong, that can be a problem. This is no light decision. It takes a long time.
So yeah I have faith in the system, not blind faith.
You didn't say you were an idiot, either, but well...
