How do I catch people who lie about their elo?

I really want to know if people are lying about their elo or not since I beat a "1400" everytime while I was 700 but little did I know, he lied about his elo and actually was 1250! It really makes me mad that people lie about their elo because they just dig their own grave of embarrassment and they give me an useless dopamine boost. Is there a way to find out someone's elo correctly instead of trusting them by what they say? (Also it's on other chess games unlike chess.com so I don't actually know their rating)

You don’t need to think about that. Just win against them and have fun playing! You don’t need to know your opponent’s rating always, just play your best game.

its obvious, how inflated is their chess.com rating.

for example, 1500 uscf is about 2300 blitz here.

Really? Im nowhere close to 2300 blitz but Im definitely above 1500 uscf!

Zaksame

I would be more worried about those able to make multiple accounts.I know about various ways to catch multiple account users but I actually don't know if it is actually illegal here or not I never really think about it.I have however seen notable content creators using different accounts for various reasons like teaching something an informative video but there is a lot of negative to that.

I actually PM'd a VERY notable GM who was aiding/teaching another player and of course help from a top level GM is going give that student an auto win.His response was "It doesn't affect their ELO/rating we give them their rating back".First of all saying something like WE give them their rating back tells me he has influence over Chess.com.

I did not respond back but the obvious response is that he missed the entire point they wasted the time of the low rated player and made that player feel like an extremely bad player getting owned.Nobody wants to waste their time getting owned by a GM's help.I can just imagine how many players 600-1200 walked away thinking how really bad they are losing to a player that is actually a 2200+-GM.

I mean if you already know then you already caught them somehow. If you know for sure then best to report them. On the other hand take it as an opportunity to analyse the game 😊

I don't think they can be reported for something happening outside of chess.com.
