Archery rifle shooting golf.... So on

Again, very much physical skill sports. There is a reason Scottie Scheffler is a multi-multi millionaire from playing golf. And you and I are not. He has the physical skill. You and I do not.

Archery, same thing. It requires precise PHYSICAL skill.

Name a single sport that does not REQUIRE physical skill or exertion. For that matter name a sport that does not require physical participation. In chess, you do not even have to physically do it. You do not have to participate. Someone else can make the moves for you. Name a sport where YOU don't have to physically participate.

I believe gambling in a sport

You have the entire internet at your disposal. Let's see if you can find even ONE sport that does not require physical skill, effort, or exertion.

Just like the final ten minutes or so of cooking a complex meal, where everything depends on timing and you have to stay really calm and work very fast, planning everything.

I could see how that could be a sport. Timing, definitely skill, and obviously physical effort.

Really? Was chess on your biglysports list?

BigChessplayer665

I'm not sure I didn't read it

BigChessplayer665

Here's a sport

Sports betting no physical exertion required or about as much exertion as chess anyway

It is only a list of 15 sports it can't list all the sports

BigChessplayer665

Pool is one it basically also requires as much physical exerion as chess (aka not much your just moving peices or in this case sticks around the entire time )

What's funny is that most of these are VERY physical sports. Hunting, yachting, pool, fishing, etc. I'm not sure gambling is a sport though. A gamble is a game of chance. Maybe more like Sorry or other games of chance. I'm not sure introducing money (or other forms of tangible gain) would make it a sport.

True alot of games that are similar to gambling or can be gambled on are considered sports for some reason dunno why but they are similar to chess

But again here is the problem with your position. In pool YOU MUST move the pool cue. You cannot have someone else do it for you and then you get credit for where the ball ends up. You have to do it.

In chess, there is no such participation requirement. You do NOT have to move the pieces. Someone else can do it for you. And you still get all the credit for the move. The person (or server) gets no credit for the move you decided on.

I've climbed mountains and stuff. Now, if that were done competitively, it would be a sport, like competitive rock climbing or maybe what we call fell running.

Absolutely. Pretty much any competitive physical recreation would be a sport. Some are probably pretty obscure though.

Technically in car racing or betting you could make the same argument "you can have someone else do it for you and have them do the gambling or racing " no one is gonna play your game for you except in very rare surcumstances even then you would prob be kicked out

Your positioning is also off

Name a single sport that does not require physical exertion. Or even participation.

In the sport of target shooting, efforts are made to reduce all physical efforts of the shooter as near as zero as possible.

BigChessplayer665

Thank you for that

ThePersonAboveYou

You could make up something really stupid and it could still fit lol

I think you are being a little bit silly now. So you are saying someone else can drive the race car, but I can take credit for the win as if I did it myself? Does that mean I won the Indy 500? Or did the person driving the car win the Indy 500?

Because if someone else (besides the person who did it) can take credit for a win, how do we decide who wins sporting events now?
