It is automatic. When your opponent runs out of time the site awards you a win as long as you have enough material to deliver checkmate. If you do not have enough material - just a king, say - the site awards a draw. In either case as long as the game is a rated game and enough moves have been played (four or more I think) the site also makes any consequential adjustment to the two players' ratings.
