I am learning “GOD LEVEL” middle game analysis, there is value in learning and I have experience in the same lines.

I get to see how not play a middle and end game.

Game analysis is very important to me.

If I were you, I did use your premium to do puzzles instead of looking at this dude's games that you are trying to mock and then it backfires back to you again of being lower elo than him.

What are puzzles?

I am currently working on middle games, basic tactics and simple end games; perfect timing!

I'm sorry but... seriously? Why are you doing such low rated puzzles?

Why wouldn’t I?

Does doing 3000 rated puzzles boost your performance?

They at least teach me much more then your 1500 rated puzzles and help me learn to calculate

Not gonna lie tho, 3000 rated puzzles are pretty dumb. Yk, they want you to find the quickest move when you could still play the exact few moves and still win. I really dislike 3000 elo puzzles for that reason.

Yeah, that’s the problem

There you have it!

But it's better than 1500-2000 elo puzzles. Half of them are also not usable.

You should do rated instead.

That’s the opposite advice you are telling me compared to a coach.

Who to listen to?

Isn't it smarter to do rated puzzles everyday when you have premium instead of wasting it? That's crazy. I would have grinded to 4000 rating puzzles in a day if I had premium.

Indeed. It would be better if he tried maybe like 2000-2700 rated puzzles

If “GOD-LEVEL” who is 2200 is being hit or missing simple tactics, there is no need to grind “harder puzzles” to improve.

I would rather have a strong grasp on basic tactics and simple end games any day of the week then to sport a high puzzles rating.

Reaskali

2000-3000 puzzles are just basic advanced puzzles.

Reaskali

It's the same thing, but more into depth of why you are doing the basic puzzles.

@Chuck639 here are a few takeaways for you

Keep tension on the board rather than trading pawns because that will mean you don't have anymore pawn breaks

While you are calculating deep lines, also consider if simple moves which improve your position are better (such as putting a Rook on an open file)

And also try and get a chess book on middlegames. That way you can learn about pawn structures which is a huge part to positional chess. If you don't want to buy a book on middlegames, I made a huge number of lessons on positional chess in this club: https://www.chess.com/club/chessgutzers . They are all written in forums.

If you are struggling with a move, consider how your pieces get affected by it and also how it helps with your plan

I sincerely appreciate the tip.

You aren’t the first to tell me this because I have supportive training partners to gap this.

Thank-you.

Well I guess one thing I can say, even if 2200 is a joke, is that I've been there. At 1600, I hardly blundered at all, but just had almost no positional understanding! And it is the same for almost all 1600s. I started blundering again at 1800 but not as badly as now! It is actually only after 2000 that I, and probably every other 2000+ here, started blundering this bad.

And hence I will answer why you see so many blunders.

At 1900, we at most would blunder a pawn or if there is a piece blunder there is massive counterplay because the position is too sharp. Once you get to 2000, you have played such tough opponents that the moment you reach past 2025, every game is super easy. Reason for this is that people find 2000 as a super respectable rating, so obviously they are going to use engine to get there or start a new account close to 2000 (idk if it is at 2000 or very close but ye).

This means all of those 1900s who have just crossed this are gonna get such easy opponents that they shoot up to 2100 in like a week!

And this is where we start deteriorating. We don't get strong opponents anymore so we start playing worse after slackening a lot. Also, there are way too many cheaters than you can possibly imagine! Like it just crushes you. Occassionally, you get to play one strong player, but it is just not enough. And worst part is you play more and more cheaters as you increase in rating!

So thanks to this, blunders start to slip in more frequently. And these are really bad ones (literal blindspots for Queens hanging). In a way, it isn't actually our fault anymore that we blunder so much, so we get super touchy on that.

We will blunder massively, but we will not lose our understanding of chess so easily! That is why you could see @EviLOverMind and I getting so triggered when you were focusing only on blunders.

The value in doing puzzles is ingraining techniques and a systematic thought process. That’s coming from an FM, not me.

Reaskali

But you are doing very basic puzzles. If you want to advance higher, I did suggest 2000-3000 elo puzzles.

Reaskali

That is if you want to improve.

Reaskali

You are already doing pretty decent with basic puzzles.

I do harder ones as well, just at a fraction of the time. I’m sticking to my coaches plan is all and not going to bother on explaining the reasons out of confidentiality.
