How do I hit 1200 elo

Sort:

Been on a bit of a losing streak recently and feeling disheartened. I was just over 1k and I’m down to 950ish and I just don’t know what I should be looking at to improve. I play the London and the kings Indian, I understand basic principles, regularly watch chess content on YouTube, I play puzzles frequently and have a puzzle elo of 2004 atm. Does anyone have any high elo big boss tip/tricks?

1200 is a good number to aim for, though once you get it you will always strive for more, the biggest issue people have at attaining and keeping a 1200 rating is playing their games way too fast, if you find you are losing games and still have 8 mins left on the clock after you lose, thats your issue, always look for checks captures and opposition what they can capture of yours, take your time analyze the entire board, you will find even in a few games you will run out of time but this tricks your brain into learning the moves faster, basically eveyrone under 1500 you will find plays the exact same way in most situations, the key then is to trick your opponent and trap a queen or whatever. if you want to see what im talking about i will play you and show you whenever you have time to show you a path.
