Tactics puzzles are good. Take enough time per puzzle, try to always solve and never fail one. When you play you should use more time per move than per tactics puzzle.
Whenever you lose a game, analyse it to learn from your mistakes.
How do I improve my middlegame and tactics?

I know I recently made a post about how I should improve my endgame and it was great the feedback I received but after today's NSPCL match, I found that what lacked my game was the middlegame and tactics. I know a lot of people recommend puzzles for tactics, but I've repeatedly tried that and it has never worked out. Mainly my main concern is the middlegame, so I'd appreciate any feedback or recommendations you might have!
