One of the reasons that chess is such a great game is that teaches people how to lose. When I first started I lost alot, and I am a very competitive person so I took it personal, but I just kept playing and eventually it didn't bother me any more. I feel that chess has taught me how to not be a sore loser in life. Just keep playing and realize that losing is just apart of the process of becoming great. If you stay consistent you will eventually see improvement.

I am low ELO, only a couple hundred matches, and absolutely terrible at this game. I try to study openings and theory and I just keep failing, over and over again. It's demoralizing and if I can't learn to handle all of these losses than I'm never going to be good at this game. I see so many completely brush losses off and keep playing, I just can't do that. I almost just want to quit this game forever so I can stop feeling so terrible for losing all of the time but that won't erase the problem. What is wrong with me?
