how do i protect my bisop or do i not at all and what do i do to attack

h3/a3. I probably would not have developed that way, but finding a way to break through seems logical. I like e5 since g6+ is a danger

Bc4 and Bf4 taken together don't make much sense. That looks like purely "cosmetic" development to me... playing moves because they "look like" development.
If one Bishop goes to the 4th rank, the other one should typically be deployed further back.
Bishops also tend to work better on neighboring diagonals... eg: Bc4 and Be3, or Be2 and Be3.
If you want to protect the Bc3, then retreat it to b3 or a2.
