How do I stop sucking at chess

I've started playing chess again (I played it as a child but nothing serious) since January, I've played rather intensively...I've got like 400 games in 10min, but I seem to not be able to go over the 900 rating.

I cannot believe my plateau is 900, that's ridiculous, I'm not stupid, over the average if I may say and I really like the game, but I cannot go on like this.

I'm definitely doing something wrong.

I watch 1400+ players' games and see the moves in advance then when I play I make rookie mistakes....

Halp please

First bit of advice - don't play 10 minute games. Play either 30 minute or 15 minute games. Second thing, after you lose, go back and look at why you lost and ask yourself why that happened. Third thing, do lots of Tactics Trainer puzzles on this web site.

It has nothing to do with being smart or not smart. It is all about learning the game.
