On Lichess there is an option in the opening explorer to put in a position and see how many times it has been played on that website. Is there no such feature on chess.com? If not, is there anyway at all I can look up a position to find a game someone else has played on here? Such as on another website?
There is a drop-down you can use the Game Explorer to look up the games individual players have played if they have a time control of at least 5 minutes and lasted at least 4 moves. You can look at other players or your own games.
But I don't think there is any way to get summary data for all members showing something like 2 billion games opened with e4 and 1.8 billion with d4 here.
It does sound interesting. I would love to know how many games ended with the Scholar's Mate or the win rates of various lines in the Sicilian and so on. Filtering data by ratings class and time control would also be interesting.
I don't know how useful the summary data would be but it might make for some interesting articles.
