How do professional players use AI to improve their chess? Interested in routines and methodology

Hi everyone,

I’m curious to learn how professional or advanced players are currently using AI tools to improve their game — especially regarding methodology. I’m not just asking what tools you use, but how you integrate them into your study process.

Do you follow a specific routine? For example:

  • Do you first analyze your games without an engine, then use AI to compare your analysis and spot missed tactics or better plans?
  • Do you use engines only after reaching a certain depth of personal analysis, or for specific phases (like openings vs. endgames)?
  • Are there moments where you deliberately avoid AI to preserve your own intuition and strategic thinking?

I’m especially interested in workflows or step-by-step approaches you follow — when and why you decide to use or not use AI tools.

Any insights, habits, or examples you can share would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
