and the way the time will work:

60 seconds for Magnus to move

60 seconds for GMs Polgar, Nakamura, and Vachier-Lagrave to enter their moves

*followed by*

90 seconds for voting.

there will be live coverage on the official site by GM Ashley, and IM Rensch will also be doing commentary on chess.com/tv as he participates in the game.

What time does the event start? Is the countdown clock adjusted to your time zone or is the clock referring to a specific time zone? 

Yeah thats a good question. What is the time zone the countdown clock is set to?

it's not set to a time zone. the game will start at the same time regardless of where on earth you find yourself. when the countdown reaches zero the game starts.

depends on how many moves, it's hard to know. i'm guessing 3-4 hours.

Will the "World" only be able to choose from the plays recommeded by the three GMs?
