How do you feel about chess?

For some reason, when I started playing chess, I did it to prove that you don't really have to be bright to play chess. I started falling in love with it. But that love I had just started disappearing, I went from loving it to hating it, and I hated how hard it was to improve from Intermediate. How do these other guys even do it? why can't I do it? So I went back and forth, loving it and hating it. I don't know whether I love it or hate it right now. I am in the middle about it. How do you feel about chess?

I am pretty much the same. I go through periods where I really struggle and almost give up two times where I can’t seem to lose. I guess the key thing to remember is that chess is a game and it should be enjoyable and if you’re not enjoying it, maybe it’s time to have a small rest

There are a lot of things that are monotonous in chess and I get bored playing the same game over and over again yet I always lose especially to piece blunders... Because of it, I came to love hating chess because although there are a lot of things I learned, I sometimes lose because of boredom... That's why I am playing random opening right now by using random numbers and monte carlo tree search in a scoresheet system in a spreadsheet and it vastly improves my experience of learning this game... It drastically made a lot of changes since then yet I still makes blunders. That is why I still love to hate it... I am using this game to find the best way to learn anything and I learned a lot from it... I hope that I can still mine some gold on the way...

Pretty much life . You win , you lose . You get tired , you get excited . You focus on material and positional advantages but what matters the most is getting the king ( basically the important things - happiness , fun , joy , family , friends etc. ) And at the end of the day you try , sometimes you lose but you must keep going

If you start to dislike chess, make a break. As soon as you feel chess appetite - return. It’s like in many areas in life - if you start to be bored, something should be done.
