They're a way to send visual messages to other members. See the link posted by @Martin_Stahl above.

cheers - send from a member's profile page or from a member's forum avatar

What's a "fun" trophy? I only heard of badges or awards or cheers, but my friend has an achievement of "receiving 10 Fun Trophies". I need one 👹👹👹
