Most of the people who comment on his opening preparation or positions he plays don't have the first clue about his play, so there's no need to defend it.

Suffice to say, if it were so simple he wouldn't win so consistently against the world's best players.

but a guy like aronian plays complex posistions

if he played more simple like magnus, he would probably be tied with him in rankings?

If I was built like Bolt and had his technique I'd be as fast as him.

But anyway no because nobody has his accuracy for such long periods.

i think many people would argue though that aronian chess understanding is on par or better then magnus

Such a shame that Aronian failed to qualify in the last Candidates because he didn't read the opinions of a chess.com poster.

And how much more complex is an Aronian one?

aronian doesn't play simple posistions..... so its harder to calculate,

What about when he plays Magnus?

A Carslen position is usually 78.2 zdrubovksu whereas the average Aronian position is over 178.9 zdrubovksu. So it's more than 100% more complex !
