No, you just have to be request to admin to join clubs.Most clubs will take you for sure.

Go to a club's site and there's a button that says "Join."
That's usually all there is to it except some clubs require that you've played a certain number of games or had limited timeouts, etc.
thank you, but i guess i should have been more specific. i am using my phone, and i can't find any pages or tabs with teams or anything. it's probably just my own inadequacy using apps.
