@Ilama47, That could be the case as well, still since they have a good skill, they still play good overall. But I’ve seen 1500-2000 players also playing unconventional things against much higher rated players (me), but that’s a bit boring, since they simply make mistakes with first pressure or a trap. That doesn’t add me anything but maybe rating points (I also blunder against them sometimes and lose points). Anyways, the points are least important part of my choice of opponents.

I think it just depends on the player. I used to watch IM Chessexplained play, and one IM opponent of his in particular played suuuuuuuuuuper boring lines, all the time, and was very booked up, so he was really good at keeping things boring.

So it would be 0.00 for 60 moves, then he'd win at the last second in the endgame or something.

That makes sense.

I'm in a good mood this week, and just now broke 2200 like I wanted, and it only took a few games so I didn't have to wait for tomorrow... so yeah.

Maybe some other day I'll be mean again tongue.png

Bismark, I didn’t take it personal, I’m saying that there is no difference between-25 and -100 if you look at them with a lens of cowardice.

And like you, I was like, I should not stop, I should play another game... but then I stopped, lol.

Hm yes you are right in that Case Goldenbeer

Illama, boring in this context is slightly different. Even a sharp opening like sicilian can be boring if everything is similar to previous games. I hate london system, but if I learn new ideas there (long term strategical plan), then it is not boring for me.

Yeah, games are the most fun when you get to try something new that you learned recently.

I don't usually block people, but an easy way to get it is to spam.

I have -50 + infinity but I end up playing players around my rating anyway sad.png

So was mine until recently.

-100 / +100

Any higher and I'm likely to mercilessly flagged (or just plain crushed).

Any lower and it's either no challenge at all, or I'm likely to get mercilessly flagged (or just plain crushed) by a sandbagger.

The worst would be running into an undercover Hikaru, during one of his Bongcloud speedruns.
