How Does The Game Pick Players For You To Play With??

Like when I play I see the screen selecting an opponent for me, but I was curious about how the game picks the opponent for you. It picks out players that have similar rating. I NEED HELP

The system tries to pair you with other players that put out seeks at the same time you do that are looking for the same time control, where both players fall within each other's rating ranges. If no match is found, your seek sits on the seek graph until a random match is found or someone picks it up manually.
There are some other things it looks at. It tries not to pair someone with bad lag with someone with a good connection and players that have a habit of abandoning games or letting games timeout, are put in a pool together and paired with each other.
