How does time-out work??

Hi, I have been timed out 4-5 times and in a couple of cases, I was far ahead and ready to close out. There was still time on the 10-minute clock and I didn't take a long time to move. 

What am I missing?

Hmm. Well your last two time-outs showed you with only a few seconds left at the time your last move began. The time stamps for each game show you spending 30 to 60 seconds for many moves.

Time flies when you are having fun. Maybe you should try the 15 10 time control.

Thank you for the response! I think my internet must be an issue then. I have waited a very long for my opponent to move at times and they never get penalized. I wonder if they have moved and my computer just isn't registering it. Some of my opponent's moves should have been obvious but took well over a minute. I really appreciate your comment and analysis.
