How good is my rating

So I am mainly a live standard player, and my rating is roughly around 1480. This is my first year playing chess and when I started, I was around 1100. So is my rating good for for my first year of chess?

That's good compared to me. My rating is 1079 and this is my second year of chess. That's probably because I don't really train at chess though.

Not to burst your bubble, but chess.com did do a massive rating boost last October.

They are just saying that they are making the ratings more accurate in general with a couple of exceptions.

That does not change the fact that everyone got at least +150 points.

You compare a rating BEFORE the boost, around 1100, and AFTER the boost around 1480. So we could say you only raised from 1100 to 1330.

Although, it is still a 230 raise.

I don't think I was a member of the site at that time so, I do not know my rating before the boost

You are right. Member since February 2015, hence what I said does not apply to you.

But then again, I do not interpret "My first year" as only 6 months.
