When I joined online chess the only thing I knew has the rules, I didnt knew about the center, I didnt knew about attacks, or anything else, just the rules, on my first days of chess I was just moving my king’s pawn foward 2 squares because thats what my opponents do when I play as black, I was just developing my knights because thats what my opponents do when I play as black, and my only plan on every game was:

1: trade everything

2: end in a pawn endgame

3: win.

I didnt knew about back rank checkmate, i didnt knew about the problem of having double pawns, I didnt knew about developing pieces and on my first games I my pieces used to sleep until I decided to do trades
and I didnt knew about opening traps and I fell for a lot of them

I learned about chess but not with books, not with videos, only by knowing the rules and with my mistakes and I am 800 Rapid

tell me how you learned how to play chess!

I first ever played chess when I was 6 years old or so. It was my dad who interduced me to chess. 5 years later I started to play against bots on another chess app. This may I decided that I wanted to play a little more serious an joined Chess.com. I watched some videos on YouTube about chess. Now I have an elo of 1500 in blitz.
