How in the world is this a STALEMATE? (checkmate in 1-2 moves)

I literally had mate in the next move or two and the game for some reason called a stalemate draw..huh? Is there a rule I am missing, this was such a boring way to draw...
(I should add that I am fairly new to chess, started playing like 2 months ago)

It's black to move. Black is not in check and black has no legal moves. By definition, that's a draw by stalemate.

Oh. didn't realize that is what stalemate is...look at this one, happened again, fml I was dominating..

When you have a big material advantage you need to either make sure your moves are checks or your opponent has one or more additional open squares or another piece with moves

In that position, Qh7 would have been mate
