How is this situation a draw?

I'm have a queen and bishop and my opponent has only the king and four pawns left, I'm about to move in for mate when I capture a pawn and then all of a sudden it's a draw and I loes - 2 in a rated game. Don't get it at all very strange. Couod someone explain this to me? I'm aware of the insufficient material draws and 50 move draws but this doesn't fall into either of those brackets. Would love to understand, I assume it's not a software glitch!? 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

It is your opponent's move but they have no legal move and they are not in check. It's called stalemate, which is a draw.
