Maybe because these guys never play live chess, Lina?
How its possible?
Online chess - 14 days between moves - more think time - better moves - better result - higher rating.
Believe me that when you are over 70 ones brain cannot cope with the faster games. In my last 10 minute game(for example) I missed taking an en prise rook and lost the game.

What i said doesnt refer to you ,your online rating is 200 elo higher than live page one its normal and no need to discuss...i talked about acconuts with 1000 elo difference u can find eg 2400 online 1300standard 1400 blitz !!!!holy crap! ! joke of the internet chess history..may be they have elixir of chess and they use it just in online games!
I think it's idiotic to judge a player's strength based on a specific rating.
Not everyone is great at bullet or blitz.
Did isay bullet or blitz? i said live page rating and it includes standard ..also my blitz and specially bullet both are very weak and if u see my games 95% are in standard time 15+10

Paul if some of them dont play live chess at all so nothing to discuss
Well, although I set 14 days - in case I can't play for a week .. work get's busy sometimes - I do often make mutliple moves in a game in an online session of the opponent is online too. That said, I used to play all my games real time but found that stacking the game queue forces you to play 'board position' because as you say - it's difficult to maintain the strategic thread. And that's a good exercise - to come to a board position and make the best move based on that - not knowing past moves. Good brain training - at least for me. I like every one's comments here. It's a good topic and reveals a diverse set of opinions and experiences.
The tendency for a much higher rating when playing 3-days-per-move vs G/15 is easy to explain without accusing people of cheating. Of course spending more time on a move, especially in combination with use of the analysis board tends to result in higher quality moves (duh).
Now some will object to this reasoning and say "but if everyone playing 3-days-per-move is playing better, then how can the majority of them achieve such high ratings (compared to standard rating) -- wouldn't their mutual improvement lead to the same win/loss rate seen at faster time controls?"
No, because even though most people playing 3-days-per-move spend hours on each move, many think for a only few minutes. The latter group choose this time control because they are busy and just want to logon once in a while during their rare free moments for a quick move (not using the analysis board at all). Clearly the players doing serious analysis will usually win more, thereby taking rating points away from those who sign up for 3-days-per-move, but treat it like speed chess.
3-days-per-move is my favorite time control. So with each new game, when I look at my opponent's profile, and see that they are simultaneously playing 200 games, with an average time-per-move of 4 minutes, I smile. I will take much more time than that, giving me an advantage, even if they're rated higher than me.
