How long does it noarmally take for a players rating to hit the 2000 mark

Most never will even if they play forever. It's a high rating. That said 90 pct of people are capable if they use the best methods for a long time. Probably 5 years for 90 pct of people if they use the best methods on a daily basis.

Well, a lot of the players on that level are cheaters.

In a year on this site, I've only encountered two players that I suspected of cheating.

In a year on this site, I've played over 10 people that have been banned for fairplay, and gotten points back. That's out of about 400 games. 1/40. About 2.5 pct of my games

Chessdunks1000

It took me like 4 years, don’t worry about it and just have fun!

Well honestly, I feel like the best way to reach elo 2000 is to just play games in this pattern:wake up, breakfast ,play chess , lunch, chess , dinner, chess ,sleep, repeat

My son 7.5 yo now took 2 months to reach from 1100 to 1500 in rapid in 10 min games in chess. We used to have coach but he left now. He goes to chess club and plays in group. If you check my profile it says 3 years but in reality he plays 1.5 years. I started chess during maternity leave and dropped it as majority of chess beginners and chess com says I have an account already so I cant open new. We are in another country because of my hubby's job. Chess is not strong here as in Kazakhstan. If my son has a talent should I go back to my country so he has more opportunities in chess.Just thinking how to develop him further though he lo es football as well.

Relatively decent some get to 1200-2000 in 8 months (I actually got to 2000 in 8 months )

If you have some natural talent it is pretty decent or if you just learn chess really fast like Tyler 1

ok thank you for your pretty nice answer!
