How many games to reach your ELO

Studying key areas (like tactics or endgames) in addition to playing games can help you break through rating plateaus.
What's your secret? Do you not play when you are tired? Do you never resign? (I bet my ELO would increase somewhat if I only played when my brain was at full functionality and if I never resigned.) Do you study chess or take lessons? Do you analyse every game that you play? Is your IQ genius level? How is it that some people play few games and reach 1000+ ELO, whereas others of us are at the very bottom with an ELO of < 500? I've also heard that some people after learning how the pieces move have an ELO of 1000+? Are they just better at pattern recognition or something? Or just naturally talented, like how some people can sing in tune on their first try? Or do they have a high IQ or better math skills or something? Are there any studies on that?
I'm around 200-400 on rapid, but less than 200 on blitz and bullet. I've played over 1000 games. When I try something new like a new opening my ELO drops a lot for awhile. I bet my ELO would be higher probably 400 if I never played when I was tired, never resigned, as often as not even if I lose my queen or rook, my opponent does something equally silly a few moves later. However I only have a finite amount of brain power each day, so sometimes I do play when I'm tired, or resign after losing my queen, etc.

Algy I do play when I'm tired but I notice when I'm playing tired/drunk/distracted my rating always goes down and then when I'm well rested is when I'm Able to make progress.

Matrixdog that's impressive, did you play any chess before you started playing on here or did you just pick it up really quick?

I just watched a bunch of chess vids, did free puzzles on apps/sites, and had alot of motivation to try to reach 1500. i got started early last year playing the "Play Chess With Dr. Wolf" Chess app
