How Many Hours of Chess Do You Estimate You've Played?
Started up again with chess in June 2016, I went all in and got a Diamant membership in July 2016 on chess.com, after more than 25 years’ break, before I stopped completely in the 90s I had played only for fun and had no rating.
I began to play chess in a local club in August 2016. In my first year, I think I have used around 750 hours in my rookie season, where have made close to 5000 tactic puzzles (have reset my tactic trainer several times), played in 7 tournaments total of 34 classic games, 37 online games on chess.com, study, reading chess books, setup my own blogs on Chess.com with my own games and GM games from the openings I am using, and analyze these games together with Stockfish

Wonder what the estimate is to make GM? Wonder how many Garry Kasparov or Bobby Fischer played to get to say 2600?

Bobby played about 110,000 hours of chess, easily, He was a workaholic when it came to chess. You could look it up!

He may have played 20,000 hrs by the time he was 15? So that's in about 10 years. At age 15, he was rated about what, 2500.

Just playing, probably around 3,000 hours. If we add the time spent studying chess, playing with myself (not what you think) at the earlier stages of my progression, having fun playing improvised modified versions of chess and so on, it will easily go over 5,000.
...in your life? That's total and includes study, playing, tactics training, everything.
Anyone care to estimate this and tell us? Then also tell your OTB or USCF or Fide rating?
I'll start it off. I'd guesstimate I've played 800 hours total in my life and my OTB/USCF rating is close to 1500.
