How much of alcohol is good for chess to play good.
Alcohol's effects on the brain - Blurred vision, slurred speech, slowed reaction times, impaired memory: Clearly, alcohol affects the brain. Some of these impairments are detectable after only one or two drinks and quickly resolve when drinking stops. On the other hand, a person who drinks heavily over a long period of time may have brain deficits that persist well after he or she achieves sobriety.
A half pint is good. Just enough to take the edge off.
Any more, you will lose your edge.
Of bourbon?
A half gallon of vodka & you'll play real good (within 3 hours, all to yourself). How do you think the Russians got so good?
It's like high-altitude traning, only it's high-alcohol training.
If you perfect your game while thoroughly pickled, you'll be super-human when sober.
Depends on the opening you plan on using:
English - Pint or two of Ale
Scotch - Scotch
French - Glass or two of Côtes du Rhône
