the rule is if you play bulllet, study bullet time.
if rapid, study rapid time (20 mins etc)
if standard then...
etc.
A long time ago in a faraway thread someone posted a similar question vowing to study 6, 8, even 10 hours a day if that was what it took to become a titled player. Our own WGM Natalia Pogonina replied that it only took 3 to 4 hours a day of consistent study but that in chess, no accomplishment was guaranteed.
