It has come to my attention that Carlsen participates too often in large chess competitions, such that his major competition has become acclimated to his style of play. Having a large sample size of games for which to study, his opponents, in particular, the next challenger to the chess throne, have adequate resources for which to prepare for Carlsen. Would it not be to his benefit to abstain from all tournaments with the exception of the most prestigious occasions?
