"That woman look like stivolina"...... Amy Adams from the movie "Arrival"-2016.
How safe is it to go to tournaments right now?

I hope Seattle doesn't end up like Wuhan. They are now saying between 25 and 70 percent of the worlds population will get it. I dont know what the number is but even with only a 3 percent mortality rate that's a lot of people who wont survive.

I hope these guys are wrong. https://www.brookings.edu/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/20200302_COVID19.pdf
Their best case scenario for the first year is 236,000 deaths in the U.S. and 15 million worldwide. Worst case, more than a million in the U.S. and 68 million worldwide.

It's 2-3% for the 100% that get it but 15% of the old peoples that get it.
The peak should be after 8 or 9 weeks like in China,so it should be at his worst in the USA at the end of april?

That's incredible. All because one person did something not quite right at a seafood market in a Chinese town nobody ever heard of until now. Butterfly effect. Probably not how he wants to be remembered for changing the world.

It could be a lot less if the peoples are very serious and follow the rules....Of course they need to test a lot more! in the USA.In Italia 2 weeks ago they were 3 sick peoples that were tested and now it's 3000,in Singapore it was 3 and now 160;because they were a lot more serious in testing and following the rules...in the UK they are pretty good too.

Funny how people are freaking out about the coronavirus, when it's just a stronger form of a cold, and not really lethal unless u are old, or have a pre-existing medical condition, but won't freak out over car related accidents which kill over 6 million people per year in the US alone, or Cancer, which kills way more people a year than the coronavirus does a year. The list could keep going on. Heart disease kills over 600 thousand Americans a year. But no lets freak out over a stronger cold that isn't even lethal to majority of people.
It's stupid.
Think about this;the flue kill .1% and this virus between 2 and 3% and this virus is 3 or 4 times more contagious than the flue and we have nothing against this virus =no immune system like the flue that we already all had and no vaccine before 18 months and if we do in 18 months it will be a first it normally take years!

30 times more lethal than the flue and 3 to 4 times more contagious!
15% death to older peoples!and very low to anyone under 30.

Israel has already started developing a cure and have stated it'll probably take 3 months before It can be used on humans, so no ur wrong about there being no vaccines for 18 months.
Besides, as you stated yourself, it's mortality rate is extremely low, comparable to the flu. Why aren't you freaking out over heart disease? What about cancer? Road related deaths? just one of these things completely dwarfs coronavirus in terms of lethality, numbers and effect, yet you're losing your mind over a stronger version of the common cold.
i said NO vaccine for at least 18 months!
The NSC estimates that in 2018, 40,000 people died in car crashes in the usa.
just testing a vaccine take +6 months and producing a few millions take + 3 months and making one at least +6 months...
NO vaccine has ever been done and ready in less than 18 months....it usually take +2 years.

It's a new strain of virus...if all cases are caught, it can actually be eliminated entirely from human populations...if that fails to happen, not only will a bunch of people die, but the virus will be back around again when it mutates, and you and everybody else will have to worry about getting multiple shots periodically instead of just the flu shot.
So, containment is critical right now. The first outbreak is the one chance to *not* have this virus added to the list of long term viruses that roam the world every year and evolve. Panic isn't needed, though. Just be smart and wait for real information and follow actual tips from actual experts. Don't shun Asian people. Don't buy masks you don't need. Don't spread anecdotes from friends of friends. Don't call in to radio shows and go a rant. Don't evangelize personal theories about what is going on. Don't say someone has it unless they have been confirmed positive, etc.
Keep up on the news and wash your hands when appropriate.

it's mortality rate is 30 times the normal flue and 4 time the contamination!
it's by far the worst virus in the last 20 years....

I think the biggest worry is that it may overwhelm the capacity of our hospitals. If that happens it won't just be coronavirus patients suffering.

If no vaccine is developed soon, and the rate of infection and deaths stay the same, then the number of people killed by this coronavirus will be more than those killed by car accidents, heart disease, and cancer combined. The percentage of people dying from this disease is much higher than things like car accidents. 3% of people driving will not die this year in an accident. Besides, it's how contagious it is that has people freaking out. The virus can survive on almost anything, even for days, unless it's cleaned or killed.

If this virus magically disappear mostly by this summer like the flue that usually last a max of 3 months it will be a miracle;there is a good chance that this virus will be here for years.....

Exactly like in China....thousands of doctors and nurses were contaminated....

Mortality rate in the US is in flux. It's higher right now because the US sucks at this type of outbreak:
- Scary headlines make more money, so, fear mongering is the norm here, and bad information dilutes good information.
- Americans are used to personal freedoms at all times that are in conflict with stricter quarantine measures .
- The individual is king in the US, and many people will consider themselves special exceptions to any rule set that comes along, and as we have seen right here in this thread, individuals will believe they know better than the authorities/experts. This is due to a few too many zombie apocalypse movies that some people have a hard time separating from reality .
sex without kissing, then. It is ok to me
I see no problem with that.
