If you want to "become A staff" that means you want to become a long piece of wood or metal etc. designed for grasping. You can "become staff" or better "become a staff member" though.

If you want to become a staff. That means you want to become 5 horizontal lines across a piece of paper, designed for reading.

You first become a moderator, or chess.com will post job openings.

Why do you want to become a staff member? You'll get a better job.

Well If you know how to do web development or are a expert in Java. You can also do app development with them. Although you'll have to do web dev there too because they have a single code base instead of having different apps in Swift and Java and I think C++ for windows phone.

Member support, well that's just a pain in the a** I'd think because you'll get insulted all day.

basically you can't just become staff just to have a green pawn.

If you want to do moderator, well I doubt you'll wanna do that either.
