How to brutalize the French in a 1 min game.
interesting to see a master game in this line from the database : http://www.chess.com/games/view.html?id=374807
Nd7 instead of Nc6 in the Qe7 line neutralizes any attack advantage from this gambit... because Nc5 attacks white's queen from the diagonal while stealing a tempo and is doubly protected with the black's Queen and bishop. It also guards b7 making way for Be6 or set ups Ne6.
I've not said this is a solid attack (or opening) against prepared lines, long, or turn-based games. I've just said that is a great gambit to have in your tool belt, to pull out in quick and blitz games. I've brutalized you with it a few times Wesnerm, which prompted you to study it, so now you are prepared to play against it.
