I'm not sure how rapid compares to other ratings, so I don't want to be rude about it but... that might have been about the time I started finding strategy and pawn structures really interesting and useful. I really liked Soltis' book "Pawn Structure Chess," although many also like Kmoch's book "Pawn Power in Chess"
How to consistently stay above 2000?

Thanks I'll check it out

How is your puzzle rating fewer than 500 points above your rating? Mine is almost a thousand higher.

Because I don't have a membership so I can only do 3 puzzles a day. But I do puzzles in other apps

We are all built differently. I've even seen some people rated around 1 200 in rapid with 2 700 puzzles, which seemed crazy to me, but it's possible.

I feel that puzzle rating here might be a bit unrealistic after a while. 2 people rated 3 000 in tactics can be completely different on a tactical level. One could be a titled player, and the other might be someone who just memorized some puzzles but is realisticly much worse tactically wise than the first one.
I think that chess tempo rating is more realistic about someone's tactical level. By the way, I am not saying this because of myself, I admit that I am somewhat weak tactically for my level either way.

Don't smoke so much weed, eat healthy feeds, get mild exercise, have a curiosity for things, practice algebraic exercise, do a bunch of math, protect your pieces, learn lots of different openings, pray , pray to have your weak flesh obey your spirit

I've been over 2000 for a while.
I suggest not playing that much, probably not more than 3 10|0 games a day - at least for me, I get worse the more I play rapid. Blitz and bullet, opposite.
Keep doing puzzles, and I know this isn't really helpful but try to work on all aspects of your games that you want or feel the need to improve.

Hey feel that one, my uncle said don't play more than 10 games per day cause it gets frustrating 😂 but we have that energy to keep going

i've done over 11,000 puzzles without intentionally memorizing any of them.
i'm in the top 50 for america. 🙂

woah only ten games? who here hasn't played a hundred bullet games a day

i use the tactics that i've sharpened through solving puzzles in my games all the time... check my archives.

Then how are you 1600?
He played just a few rapid games. His real rating will probably be a lot higher if he starts playing rated rapid games.
My puzzle rating on chess.com is almost 2500, I learned the english opening from a book and know it well, and I am currently studying endgames from Silman's complete endgame course.
I am currently above 2000 but that has happened multiple time recently which shortly after, I dropped 50 points and slowly worked back up. To those who are above 2000 for a consistently long time, what do I need to improve to pass this level?
