How to cope with a loss
700+ games and you haven't learned to deal with dissapointing losses?
We have nobody to blame for a lost game of chess except ourselves.
The one and only thing you can do is learn something from it and move on.
The reason you are feeling dissapointed is probably because you have not done this.
Instead, you have allowed yourself to dwell on the loss.
Ever heard of closure? This is what happens when you learn from your mistake. You don't have closure, so you are in mourning.
It's hard. The best thing is to remember that your rating does not always reflect your skill level. In this case you had a winnable game but fatigue took its' toll. Try not to dwell on your loss and remember the common saying that you're not a chess player until you've lost 10,000 games. There's always another game and as long as you keep learning eventually winning will come easier. Anything you can do to reduce fatigue? Do you get some exercise regularly and have a decent diet? Doesn't seem like it would have anything to do with chess until you start faltering late in a game. Best of luck with this enormously frustrating game. It wouldn't be so attractive if it were easy now, would it?

Hello everyone,
I just got back from a rated tournament game, and it was quite frustrating. I had a HUGE dynamic advantage in my middlegame position, piece activity, and space, and I could have finished her off soon, if it wasn't for my tiredness and time trouble that put me to sleep as I missed a tactic on her part.
I was just wondering how you guys cope with a dissapointing loss and how to make sure you don't get discouraged.
I would really appreciate this.
