Play faster. You are probably talking about a game like this, which was a 2 1 game:

null

You were only down a piece and had 57 seconds left compared to your opponent's 12 seconds.

Unfortunately, within a few moves you dropped your queen. That made it easier for your opponent to move quickly and pick up a little time with each move.

You can see the time stamps for each move.

No magic. No cheating.

/ You really aren't allowed to come here and accuse your opponent of any kind of cheating.  If you have any questions, you should join the Cheating Forum, a club, where you can ask questions about how these things happen.

I experienced the same thing many times. There is definitely a way to hack the time. I lost while being ahead 1:50 to 13 second time deficit. I was fully aware of time and was just moving my pieces as fast as possible to run time down . Some have guessed this is a method to give paying members an edge.

The original poster was playing a game with a one second increment. That means one second is added for each move that they play. In some simple endgames, it is not hard to use premove to play many moves quickly and add time to the clock.

You can watch the game's timestamps to see how he lost and that there was no hacking. He just dropped his queen.

In such a situation , someone playing 10 moves with premove would be only using 1/10th of a second for each move and  adding one second for each, gaining a net 9 seconds as a result.

Premium members have the same issues with time as free members. If you search the forum history, you will see that.

In your game, your opponent just played much faster than you did. You can see it in the timestamps.

You can see that you used more time on almost every single move. (You used more time in 19 of the 21 moves shown.)

That this game allow such a thing as a premove, and still want to be called chess, is beyond me. There is no such thing in chess, and if this is supposed to be a simulation, then there shouldn't be such thing here either - or rename this game to something else, cause it ain't chess, that's for sure. Besides, no human can make a move faster then 1 second. Also, pressing a button after making a move should also be mandatory, as that simulates a playing hand pressing the clock. Nothing but problems with features such as that premove and no-clock-press. 🤮

Chess.com charges the user 0.1 seconds for a pre-move.  There are other sites which don't charge users any time at all for premoves.  Some people complain that chess.com's 0,1 second charge is unfair. (Too high)

I agree with you that if anything it is too low.  I think that the minimum should be something like 0,5 seconds.

/ I guess that users of sites where there is no time charge for pre-moves are looking forward to the day when lag is eliminated and they may finally play 0 0 games.

There should not be premoves at all, and everyone should be required to press a button to send there move up. These two things are much closer to a real game then some semi-automated bullshit that makes you wonder if you're playing a machine.
