How to counter attack a checkmate threat

I am writing to ask if it is possible to counter attack any checkmate threat and in return endup mating them and winning if any solutions please show me

A checkmate is impossible to escape from, but a check is possible to escape. Even if you can perform a checkmate to the other side, you still lose because another piece can attack you as well. However, if it’s a check, you can capture the piece that is attacking you or you can perform a checkmate.
