Every time I play it just seems like I blunder something trivial or lose on time. How the hell do i even cross the 2000 blitz rating mark?

Accurate problems for a 1700-1900

A couple things that helped me were 1.bullet sped (or not)

2.endgame endurance and swindle practice(you need to kind of force or "convince your opponents to blunder " or at least make the position difficult)

3.positional play and hanging pieces less(or at least at a higher level you never really stop hanging pieces ) 1800s are horrible at positional play

But idk what your individual problems are I haven't looked at our games yet but you should be using most of your time anyway

Hi there,

I am rated over 2400 online (https://www.chess.com/member/ppandachess). I created a free course that will teach you a training plan to improve. Feel free to check it out: https://www.panda-chess.com/daily-improvement-plan

As it turns out, I already know your website and have your training plan. But I thought it might be more suitable for rapid and blitz has different training methods.

Play bullet in moderation since you get into time trouble often it looks like. Also, since you're an advanced player, the chess.com forums are a bad place to go looking for advanced advice. Go to lichess, I think the forum quality is better over there. The answers there are a bit more genuine.

I plan to play bullet after crossing 2000 blitz, but yeah. The forum quality on Lichess is definitely better.

Actually in my experience playing bullet makes me use more time not less ironically me flagging most of my games makes me use more time (I forget about the time cause i can play faster ) its helpful in moderation (btw sorry if I sound snarky but actually I didn't get to 2000 ish until I learned what positional play was and I didn't really get to 2100 until I hanged less pieces than before ) I didn't actually study except for analyzing games

I agree, not blundering tactics was enough to get me to 1900 now and is probably enough to get to 2100. But I just don't think bullet improves blitz though.

It doesn't of course bullets mostly for the time management tbh positional play for blitz is mostly learning how to use pressure or make them think to make people do dumb blunders(otb is different tho)

Yeah, classical is totally different. I just wanted to my speed chess abilities to be on par with my slow chess abilities.

Tbh swindling is underrated in blitz chess it might be helpful to make a position complicated enough since endgames are more important usually the more complicated for your opponent and the easier it is for you the better patience is super helpful going agro too early is bad
